But what if the real story is not about scaling Bitcoin, but about rebranding Ethereum?

It is a marketing play. Three of them are essentially Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chains with a Bitcoin peg. One uses a centralized multi-sig that has already been exploited on a testnet. The fifth is a whitepaper with no code. This is not a renaissance. It is a gold rush dressed in orange.

Is the team publishing transparent audit reports? In this bull market, euphoria masks technical flaws. But if you look with code-audit eyes, you will see the cracks. I am not saying all Bitcoin L2s are scams. I am saying that the current narrative is dangerously misaligned from the technical reality. The ones that survive will be the ones that build on Bitcoin's actual properties, not on a rebranded EVM.
