Intel’s narrative, as framed by institutional research, is simple: by 2027, the foundry division reaches breakeven; by 2028, advanced packaging (EMIB) alone generates $7 billion in revenue. The key clients are not the usual PC OEMs—they are AWS, Google, and Apple. Here is where the contrarian angle emerges. The crypto ecosystem has long treated hardware as a commodity—GPUs for mining, ASICs for Bitcoin, and now specialized chips for AI inference. But as on-chain activity shifts from simple value transfer to complex computation (ZK proofs, MEV extraction, autonomous agent settlement), the packaging of silicon becomes the bottleneck. Intel’s EMIB-T technology, which interconnects chiplets with high-bandwidth bridges, is structurally analogous to a liquidity aggregator for compute.
